QR Code Generator Guide for Websites, WiFi, PDFs, and Business Cards
Make QR codes that remain scannable after download, printing and placement—not just inside the generator preview.
Encode the final destination exactly
Test the URL, WiFi credentials or text before creating the code. A QR code faithfully stores mistakes, including an old domain, missing HTTPS, unintended spaces or incorrectly capitalized network details.
For campaigns, decide whether the QR should point directly to the destination or to a managed redirect you can update. A static QR image cannot change the data already encoded in it.
Protect contrast and the quiet zone
Dark modules on a light background are the safest choice. Decorative gradients, low contrast and busy backgrounds may look attractive but reduce the separation scanners need.
Leave an empty margin around all sides. Cropping the quiet zone or placing text against the code can make an otherwise valid image difficult to detect.
Size for the real viewing distance
A code that scans on a phone screen may fail when printed small on packaging or viewed from across a room. Print a sample at final size and test with more than one phone and camera app.
Higher error correction can tolerate some damage or a small central logo, but it also makes the pattern denser. Never cover finder squares in the corners.
Test the exported asset
Scan the downloaded PNG or SVG rather than only the live preview. Then test it inside the final poster, card, PDF or webpage because resizing and compression can alter sharp edges.
Confirm the decoded result before publishing. A successful scan is not enough if it opens the wrong page or exposes credentials you did not intend to share.
